Kigali et Kinshasa officialisent le réchauffement de
leurs relations

Le gouvernement rwandais a nommé un
ambassadeur en République démocratique du
Congo (RDC), plus de dix ans après la rupture des
relations diplomatiques entre les deux pays qui ont
opéré un rapprochement

spectaculaire ces derniers mois.
Selon un communiqué du Conseil des ministres lu sur les antennes de Radio

Les trois femmes du président sud-africain élu Jacob Zuma
assisteront à la prestation de serment de leur mari samedi à
Pretoria, a-t-on appris jeudi de source officielle. M. Zuma, âgé de
67 ans, "sera accompagné de ses trois épouses et de ses
enfants.
|
Il a aussi invité des membres de sa famille qui viennent des quatre coins du
pays", a déclaré à l'AFP son porte-parole, Zizi Kodwa. M. Kodwa n'a pas pu
préciser si la totalité des 19 enfants de M. Zuma seraient présents samedi.

Gisenyi : Laurent Nkunda va en justice contre le
gouvernement rwandais

Les avocats de Laurent Nkunda vont en procès contre
le gouvernement rwandais. Ils accusent ce
gouvernement de détenir illégalement leur client. De
leur coté, les avocats du gouvernement rwandais
affirment prendre
|
acte de l’accusation portée contre leur gouvernement, mais jugent le tribunal
incompétent pour siéger sur un tel dossier. La première audience de ce procès

Pour justifier ses échecs dans la gestion de la RD Congo,
la présidence congolaise avait un argument facile : « c’est
Laurent Nkunda qui nous empêche de travailler ». Le
gouvernement a fini par faire avaler cette pilule aux
Congolais,

à tel point que la plupart des citoyens étaient convaincus, que la simple mise à l’
écart du Général Laurent Nkunda serait synonyme de développement social et
économique. Après avoir trompé les Congolais, Joseph Kabila a fini par tromper

Tens of thousands more flee armed groups in eastern DR Congo, UN agency

– The United Nations refugee agency voiced serious concern today over the plight of
thousands of civilians who have fled their homes to escape daily attacks by the
many armed groups operating in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that civilians in North Kivu
province continued to be terrorized by groups such as the Democratic Forces for the
Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), which has been the target of recent joint operations
conducted by Rwanda and DRC.

CNDP, the rebel movement in eastern Congo, telling

his stronghold in the Masisi Mountains.

the government has banned journalists from using the main road to its enemy so

Uganda's top rebel commander killed in DR Congo

KAMPALA, March 10 (Xinhua) -- A senior commander of Uganda's notorious rebel
group, the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), has been killed during the on-going joint
military operation to wipe out the rebel group holed up in northeast of the
Democratic Republic of Congo.
"Lt. Col" Okello Yape, whose role in the LRA is not yet clear, was killed in southwest
of Ri-Kwangba, a remote border area in southern Sudan, according to a statement
of the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF) on Tuesday.

Europe gives Rwanda 175 mln euros for govt budgets
|
Europe's aid chief said on Tuesday that the continental body
had given Rwanda 175 million euros ($222 million) in
budget support to help reduce poverty and spur economic
development in the central African nation.

Louis Michel, Europe's commissioner for development and humanitarian aid, said
the money would be spent over a six-year period and was given to Rwanda for its
